As the years progress, classroom sizes matters and it has increased steadily to an average of 35+ students. As much as it may be “working” as per the education system it has also caused for many issues among students and staff. Our children deserve to have an environment where they can ask questions, seek support and develop their confidence. However, due to a lack of investments in the education system, our children are left to take the personal initiatives to self-advocate to clarify their understanding. This and more on our episode Classroom Size Matters. Please feel free to reach out to us if you would like to share your feedback on the episode! We would love to make a Part 2 on any other questions that are unanswered!

Chances are that your child is in a class with more than 20 students. Although teacher instruction plays a key role in your child understanding new concepts, a teacher’s ability to ensure that your child understands after a lesson is drastically reduced when there is a high number of students in a classroom. It is these conditions that incite you to begin searching for a tutor or joining a math learning center. Your child is not receiving enough one-on-one support during the school day which takes away time and money from you.

However, I find students who attend extra help at school are able to ask more questions. Where students go from “I have no idea what I am doing” to “Oh my gosh, this is so easy!”. This is simply because they are able to ask more questions as I show them how to solve different math equations in an environment with fewer. Even universities have realized that tutorials that are stimulating and provide positive, constructive feedback increase student satisfaction.

Due to a lack of investments in the education system, our children are left to take the personal initiatives to self-advocate to clarify their understanding. Ideally, this support should be available during classroom hours. So, children have more time after school to pursue extracurricular activities, socialize with friends or to just simply rest! If you’re able to see how transformative it is for a child to access smaller classroom sizes, I am excited to announce that Ramya and I are here to provide a solution that we know you are going to love.
